What a domain is, and why your business needs one
A domain is your business’s address on the internet: cafedelbarrio.com instead of a Facebook page with numbers at the end. It’s what people type to reach your website, what comes after the @ in your email, and what goes on your card, your van and your sign.
Your own domain says the business is serious. A Facebook page or an @gmail address works, but a Customer can’t tell whether it’s you or someone who copied your name. With your domain, the website and the email carry the same name, and that name doesn’t depend on a social network that changes its rules whenever it likes.
How we choose your domain
We pick it together on the call or in the first week. These are the rules I follow:
Short and easy to say
If you have to spell it out over the phone, it’s too long. cafedelbarrio.com beats cafeteria-and-bakery-del-barrio.com.
No hyphens or numbers
People forget them when they type it, and emails get lost.
.com first
It’s what people type without thinking. If it’s taken, we look at a version with your town (cafedelbarriocaguas.com) or another ending like .pr, .net or .shop.
Not easily confused
Before registering it we search for it on Google, so it isn’t too close to another business’s.
What domain registration with me includes
I register the domain with auto-renew on, so it never lapses by accident. Renewals are included in your monthly plan: you don’t have to remember to pay anyone or hunt for the reminder email.
Then I handle the technical side: your site opening with and without www, with the security padlock (HTTPS), and the records your professional email needs to send and receive without landing in spam. I write down where everything lives, so nothing depends on someone remembering.
Who owns the domain?
While you’re on the plan, the domain is registered under my company and I take care of it. If you cancel and owe nothing, I move it to your name along with your website, your email and your Google profile. I tell you this plainly on the first call.
If you already own a domain, it stays in your name and your account. I only change its settings so it points to your new site, and first I copy all its records so your current email keeps working without a single day off.

Questions
How much does the domain cost?
The first year and the renewals are included in your plan; there’s no separate charge for the domain. If the name you want is a premium domain (some sell for much more), I tell you before registering anything.
Can I register just the domain, without a website?
The domain comes as part of a plan, with your website and email, because that’s how it serves your business. If for now you only want the name, you can register it yourself at any registrar; when you want the site, I connect it and it stays in your name.
What happens to my domain if I cancel?
If you owe nothing, I move it to your name with the website, the email and your Google profile. You can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.
Can I use a domain I already have on GoDaddy?
Yes. It stays in your account and in your name. We only change where it points, and I copy its email records first.
