Why professional email instead of @gmail

When a Customer gets a quote from cafedelbarrio@gmail.com, they can’t tell it’s you. When it comes from hola@cafedelbarrio.com, they can. Email on your domain is like a sign with your name on it: it says the business is real and here to stay.

It helps you too. Business mail stays apart from personal mail, and if someone stops working with you, their mailbox stays with the business, not in their personal account.

Mailboxes and addresses: how many you need

A mailbox is one login with its own password and its own inbox. Starter includes 2 mailboxes and Business 5, and you can add more to your monthly plan.

On top of that, each mailbox can receive extra addresses for free: sales@, bookings@ or billing@ arriving in your info@ mailbox. Most small businesses need one or two mailboxes and a few extra addresses, so you don’t pay for accounts nobody uses.

Standard email or Google email

There are two ways to have your professional email, depending on your plan:

Standard email (Starter)

Works in the mail app on your iPhone or Android. For iPhone I send you a profile that installs it in a few taps; on Android we set it up together on the call.

Google email (Business)

Your email on your domain inside the Gmail app, with Google Workspace. If you’re on Starter and prefer it, you can add it to your monthly plan.

Keeping your email out of spam

A new email that isn’t set up properly lands in your Customers’ spam folder, and neither of you finds out. That’s why I set the three records Gmail and Outlook check to know a message really comes from your business: SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

Before handing it over, I send tests from every mailbox to a Gmail and an Outlook account and check they reach the inbox. I come from IT, where setting up business email was my daily work.

If you already have email

If your current email already uses your domain (on GoDaddy or another provider), I move your old messages into the new mailbox before the switch. It’s included in the setup fee.

If you use a personal Gmail, there’s nothing to move: I set it to forward what arrives there to your new address while your Customers get used to writing to the new one.

Email, domain and website together

Your professional email uses your domain, the same one as your website, and the site’s contact form goes straight to your mailbox.

See how it all fits for your kind of business: web design for restaurants, for salons and for contractors. Or go back to website design for businesses to see the plans, along with your domain and your Google Maps profile.

Questions

How much does professional email cost?

It’s included in every plan: 2 mailboxes on Starter and 5 on Business, with free extra addresses. Additional mailboxes, and Google email on Starter, are added to the monthly plan; I give you the price on the call.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, that’s the point. I leave it working on your iPhone or Android, and on the phone of everyone with a mailbox, sending and receiving.

What happens to my email if I cancel?

If you owe nothing, I move the email to your name, every mailbox with its messages, along with the domain, the website and your Google profile.

Can I get just the email, without a website?

Email comes as part of a plan, with your domain and website, because together is how they serve your business best. On the call we work out which plan fits.
