How much does a website cost in Puerto Rico?

Real prices by type of business, the two costs every website has (building it and keeping it running), what makes the price go up, and what to ask so two quotes compare fairly.

"How much does a website cost?" is usually the first question a business owner asks, and the hardest one to get a straight answer to. Some places say "it depends" and stop there. Others give you a low number and the rest shows up later as monthly charges.

Here are real numbers. These are Esensee's prices, by type of business, plus what it costs to keep a site running each year and what to ask when you compare quotes. If you want the full picture first (pages, language, Google Maps), start with the small business website guide.

The short answer

At Esensee there are three Plans, each with a one-time Setup fee:

  • Starter, from $499 one-time plus a monthly plan: a one-page website, your domain, 2 email addresses and your Google Maps listing set up.
  • Business, from $1,200 one-time plus a monthly plan: up to 6 pages, in Spanish and English, 5 email addresses on Google email (used in the Gmail app) and Google Maps.
  • Custom, quoted case by case: online orders, bookings, moving an old site, or anything bigger.

On top of the Setup fee there's a Monthly plan, starting on Launch day, that covers hosting, the domain renewal, email and small changes. Its price is set for each business on the free call, depending on the Plan and how many email addresses you need. Once we have your photos and information, the site is usually live in about two weeks.

How much a website costs by type of business

It depends more on what your site has to do than on your industry, but each type of business tends to need the same things:

Type of business What the site usually needs Plan that usually fits Setup fee from
Restaurant or café Menu as text, hours, photos, WhatsApp button Starter; Business for Spanish and English with separate pages $499 or $1,200 one-time + monthly plan
Food truck Where you'll be this week, menu, hours, social media Starter $499 one-time + monthly plan
Salon or barbershop Services with prices, photos of your work, how to book Starter; Business if you split hair, nails and barbering $499 or $1,200 one-time + monthly plan
Contractor Past jobs with before and after photos, towns you cover, how to get a quote Business $1,200 one-time + monthly plan
Shop or boutique What you sell, photos, hours, address, social media Starter $499 one-time + monthly plan
Auto repair shop Services (brakes, A/C, diagnostics), hours, location Starter; Business for one page per service $499 or $1,200 one-time + monthly plan
Online store, online orders or bookings Cart, payments or an appointment calendar Custom Quoted

Take a café in Caguas. If one page with the menu, hours, photos and a WhatsApp button covers it, Starter fits. If it gets tourists and wants the site in Spanish and English, with the menu, catering and events on separate pages, that's Business. There's more detail in what a restaurant website costs, and the pages for restaurants, contractors and salons and barbershops show what goes on each.

The two costs: building it and keeping it running

Every website has two costs. One is building it, once. The other is keeping it running, every month or every year: the domain, the hosting, the email and the changes you'll need. Many surprises come from the second one.

Cost How often If you do it yourself (list price) With Esensee
Building the site Once Your time, or whatever the builder quotes you From $499 (Starter) or from $1,200 (Business), one-time + monthly plan
.com domain Every year $12 to $25 a year In the Monthly plan
Hosting Every month $3 to $30 a month In the Monthly plan
Business email Every month, per person $7 per person a month (Google Workspace, yearly plan) In the Monthly plan: 2 on Starter, 5 on Business
Changes (prices, hours, photos) When you need them Your time, or paid per change Updates included in the Monthly plan
Google Maps listing Once Free (your time) Set up in every Plan

Those list prices were checked in October 2026 and can change. Each piece is explained, with its yearly cost, in domain, hosting and business email: what they cost a year.

Why the website prices you see vary so much

You'll see prices that are far apart for something that sounds the same. Usually they aren't selling the same thing. One price includes the domain and email for a year; another only covers the design. One is a template with your logo swapped in; another is designed for your business. One has a monthly charge that only comes up after you sign.

The problem is comparing two numbers that cover different things.

What to ask so two quotes compare fairly

Before you decide, ask the same questions to everyone:

  1. Whose name is the domain registered in? And if I leave, does it move to my name?
  2. Is business email included? How many addresses, and who sets them up?
  3. Is there a monthly or yearly cost after it's built? How much, and what does it cover?
  4. Who makes the changes later, and how do I ask for them?
  5. Is it a template or is it designed for my business?
  6. Is there a contract? For how long, and what happens if I cancel?

With the answers in writing, you can see which quote includes more.

Get it in writing Ask for the quote with each cost on its own line: building it, the monthly or yearly cost, and the extras. If something isn't written down, assume it isn't included.

What makes the price go up

The Setup fee starts at $499 or $1,200, paid once, plus a monthly plan, and goes up when there's more work:

  • More pages. Starter is one page; Business goes up to 6. Beyond that, or with a lot of content, it's Custom.
  • Two languages. Spanish and English is having each page twice, written well in both. It comes with Business.
  • Online orders or bookings. A cart, payments or an appointment calendar is Custom.
  • Moving an old site. Bringing over the pages of a site you already have is Custom. (Moving old mail from your own domain into the new email is included.)
  • More email addresses. Each Plan includes a number of Mailboxes; extra ones are added to the Monthly plan. Aliases (sales@ or bookings@ arriving in your inbox) are free.

After Launch, small changes (text, prices, hours, photos) are Updates and come with the Monthly plan. Something bigger, like a new page, is a Change request, quoted separately.

How paying for your website works with Esensee

It starts with a free 30-minute call, in Spanish or English. We choose the Plan, count the email addresses, and you get the exact quote in writing. Then you sign a one-page Service agreement.

You pay half the Setup fee before work starts and the other half at Launch, once the site is live on your domain and your email works. The Monthly plan starts that same day. There's no long-term contract: you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. How the two weeks go, step by step, is in how to get your website live in two weeks.

Questions

How much does a website for a small business cost in Puerto Rico?

At Esensee, from $499 for a one-page site (Starter) and from $1,200 for up to 6 pages in Spanish and English (Business). Custom is quoted case by case, and the Monthly plan is quoted on the free call.

Why don't you publish the Monthly plan price?

Because it changes with each business: it depends on the Plan and on how many email addresses you need. We tell you the exact amount on the call, in writing, before you pay anything.

Do I have to pay everything up front?

No. You pay half the Setup fee before work starts and the other half at Launch. The Monthly plan starts on Launch day, with no long-term contract.

What if I already have a domain?

It stays in your name. We only manage its settings so it points to your new site and your email. If you don't have one, we register it for you, and it moves to your name if you cancel and owe nothing.
