How to get your website live in two weeks: our process

From the free call to the day your website is live, step by step: what you do, what we do, what to have ready before the call, how payments work and what can add a few days.

A lot of owners have heard the same story: "the website will be ready in a month," and six months later it still isn't. Usually nobody did anything wrong on purpose. Nobody knew what was needed, who had to send what, or when.

That's why we lay out our process here. With Esensee, a website is live in about two weeks once we have your photos and information. That depends mostly on how quickly you can answer, send photos and approve the design, and a few outside steps (the domain, Google) can add days that nobody controls. Here's each step, what you do and what we do.

How long it takes to get a website with Esensee

About two weeks, counted from the day we have your questionnaire, your logo and your photos. The call and the agreement come before that and usually take a day or two. If the photos take a week to arrive, the website takes a week longer. It's that direct.

The two weeks, day by day

The days are approximate. They count from when your information arrives.

When What happens What you do What Esensee does

The steps, from the call to Launch

1. The free 30-minute call

We talk in Spanish or English, whichever you prefer. We pick the plan (Starter from $499 one-time plus a monthly plan or Business from $1,200 one-time plus a monthly plan; Custom for online orders, bookings or moving an old site), count how many email addresses you need, and you leave with an exact quote in writing.

2. The agreement and the first payment

The Service agreement is one page: what the Setup fee covers, what the Monthly plan covers, and how to cancel. You sign it and pay the first half of the Setup fee. Then work starts.

3. The questionnaire on your phone

It takes about 15 minutes and has four short steps: your business, your website, how it should look, and photos and details. At the end it opens WhatsApp with your answers already written. You tap Send, then send your logo and photos in the same chat.

4. The Design brief

From your answers, we write a one-page Design brief: your business, your customers, the website's one job (a call, a WhatsApp order, a quote request) and the one detail only your business has. Every website is designed from scratch from its own brief. There's no template your business gets squeezed into.

5. The Design direction

Before building everything, we design the top of the page and one section and show them to you on your phone. You say yes, or tell us what to change. This step exists so you don't see your website for the first time when it's already finished. Your yes is also the step where the calendar moves fastest or stops: the sooner you answer, the sooner the rest gets built.

6. The rest of the site, the domain and the email

With your yes, we build the rest of the website, register the domain, create your email addresses and set them up so your mail doesn't land in spam (with records called SPF, DKIM and DMARC). We put the email on your phone, move your old mail if you have any, and set up your Google Business Profile.

7. The Launch check and Launch

Before going live we check that the website opens on your domain with https, looks right on a phone and a computer, every link works, prices and hours match what you gave us, and test emails reach Gmail and Outlook inboxes. Then it goes live. That day is Launch.

What to have ready before the call

You don't need everything to book the call, but the more you have, the sooner the clock starts.

  • 10 photos taken in daylight: your place, your work, your products or your food.
  • Your logo, if you have one. If not, we tell you what we can do.
  • Your hours.
  • Your prices, menu or list of services.
  • The email addresses you want (info@, citas@, your name@).
  • Whether you already own a domain, and where.
  • Your Google profile login, if you already have one.
  • Whether you want the website in Spanish, English or both.

The photos are what takes longest Most of the waiting happens here. If you can take your 10 photos this week, in daylight and with your phone held sideways, you've done the part that holds up the calendar the most.

What can add a few days

Some steps don't depend on you or on us. Registering a new domain and having it show up everywhere on the internet (the DNS) can take from hours to a couple of days. If you already own a domain, we need you or your registrar login to change a few settings.

Google verifies your Business Profile its own way: sometimes with a code, sometimes with a video, and it can take days. We can't promise exact days for that part. Google explains the options in its help page on verifying your profile. If verification isn't done by Launch, the website still goes live and the profile keeps moving.

How payments work

Half of the Setup fee before work starts, the other half at Launch. The Monthly plan starts on Launch day and covers hosting, the domain renewal, email and Updates. Its price is set for each business on the free call, depending on the plan and how many email addresses you need. There's no long-term contract: you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. To see what everything costs, read how much a website costs in Puerto Rico and what a domain, hosting and business email cost per year.

What happens after Launch

Small changes (text, prices, hours, photos) are Updates: you send them by text and we make them, included in your Monthly plan. Something bigger, like a new page or a new feature, is a Change request: we quote it in writing first and only start once you say yes.

If you want to start, book a free 30-minute call, in English or Spanish.

Questions

What if I'm slow sending photos?

Nothing breaks. The calendar simply starts when they arrive. If you have some now and more later, we can start with what you have and add the rest as Updates after Launch.

Can I see the website before it goes live?

Yes, twice. First the Design direction (the top of the page and one section) on your phone, and then the finished website before Launch. Nothing goes live without your yes.

What if I already have a domain?

It stays in your name, and we only manage its settings. We'll need you, or your registrar login, to change a few of them, which can add a day or two.

What happens if I cancel?

You give 30 days' notice, with no long-term contract. While you're on the plan, Esensee's LLC holds the domain, website, email and Google profile. If you cancel and owe nothing, all of it moves to your name within 14 days. A domain you already owned stays yours the whole time.
